The Type 90 Tank (90式戦車 Kyū-maru-shiki-sensha?) is the main battle tank featured in the ALDNOAH.ZERO television series. The United Forces of Earth used it to support Tanegashima in the battle against the Martian Kataphrakts.

History
During the First Earth-Mars War, a unit of Type 90 tanks, including Koichiro Marito and John Humeray were deployed against Deucalion, the first Martian Kataphrakt to land on Earth at Tanegashima. In spite of their numerical superiority, the tanks proved unable to even hit the Kataphrakt, as their shells were deflected by its anti-gravity fields. The entire unit was then destroyed by its anti-gravity weapons, and John Humeray was trapped in a burning tank. Humeray asked Marito to shoot him with his sidearm rather than burn to death, a request to which Marito obliges. (AZ: "Princess of VERS") , (AZ: "Darkness Visible")
As of the Second Earth-Mars War, the Type 90 appears to have been retired from UE service in place of the KG-7 Areion Kataphrakt, at least in the Japanese theater of operations. (AZ: "Princess of VERS")
Trivia
- The tank is similar to that of those that belong to the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, which are manufactured by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
