Count Marylcian (マリルシャン 伯爵 Marirushan-Hakushaku?) is a supporting character that appears in the ALDNOAH.ZERO television series. He holds the title of Count as a member of the Orbital Knights. He pilots the Martian Kataphrakt Herschel.
Personality & Character[]
Marylcian is one of the Orbital Knights who look down on Terrans. He treats everything Terran as dirty, and fears that they harbor microorganisms, as Count Mazuurek has stated.
He is very proud of his stature as a member of the Orbital Knights and sees the title fit for only Vers-born humans. Thus, he holds antipathy towards Slaine Troyard, for becoming a Martian Knight, while being born a Terran.

Marylcian has shown hubris continuously towards Slaine in contempt for a lowly Earth-born to be among him. Thus Marylcian has deemed Slaine to be too dangerous, because of his quick accession to a position of power. He challenges Slaine to a duel, which leads to Marylcians' death during the duel, when he was sucked out into the vacuum of space after Slaine cut off the Herschels' head that is linked to the cockpit.
