Mars (火星 Kasei?) Mars is the fourth planet from the sun in the Solar System. The Vers Empire resides on Mars, which is called VERS by its people, the Martians.

The technology Aldnoah that once belonged to an unknown super civilization was found by the Terran Dr. Rayregalia Vers Rayvers in ancient ruins.
After the discovery of the Hyper Gate by Apollo 17 on the Moon, the colonization of Mars began with the discovery of Aldnoah. This led to the creation of the Vers Empire, which claimed that the Emperor inherited the authority of Aldnoah. The people of Vers state that they have become a new race distinct from Old Humanity.
