Personality & Character
Calm is a young man of average height and build. He has blue eyes and blond hair that is cut short and styled upwards. He is usually seen in his standard Shin-awara High School uniform.
He is an easy-going and boisterous individual, often teasing and energetic, although he would lose his temper in battle and act carelessly at times. He has the habit of giving the Martian Kataphrakts and units nick-names as he called the Nilokeras as "pill-bug", the martian Sky Carrier as "bat", and the Ortygia, Electris and Scandia as "Dupes", "Sparks" and "Houdini", respectively. He shows a brief hatred against the Martians, particularly for killing his friend Okisuke Mikuni. Calm is easily attracted to and mesmerized by pretty girls.
Calm comes from a country that was severely affected by the events of Heavens Fall, the First Earth-Mars War. In a brochure containing answers to selected fan questions handed out at the Aldnoah.Zero: Extra Day event, this country was revealed to be Canada. Calm is not particularly good at manipulating the Kataphrakt, getting a C- grade for maneuvers. (AZ: "Princess of VERS")
One of Calm's classmates and friends. Calm liked to tease him about his grades in a joking manner, and discussed if they would be drafted by the military if the war went on. After the attack from the Nilokeras Calm came up to the top of the vehicle he was confused to only see Inaho and asked where Okisuke was before realizing that he had died during the escape. Calm was frustrated and angered by his death, Okisuke's death is what fueled his hatred for Martians.

One of Calm's classmates and friends. He follows his orders without question and trusts him deeply, however Calm remarked how he has never seen Inaho smile and has "that same grumpy look on his face" when Yuki brought up Inaho's crush on the princess.
Calm jokingly called her the Goddess of Tuesdays.
Nina comes from the same country as Calm.
Calm remarked that Princess Asseylum in her disguise an exotic beauty and even jokingly grading her a "ten", as in a good catch. When he meets her without her disguise, he quickly changed his opinion of Martians. (AZ: "Then and Now")
